Hood deflector above the screen would be originally silver. Note the FMR ‘circles’ badge but with the early ‘whisker’ front trim. Early type side lights and red flashers with no chrome inset. Chrome headlamp rims. Hubcaps are not original but were offered by dealers in this style.
This is a Messerschmitt Convertible with a fabric cover in place of a dome. Unfortunately, originals are hard to identify as many were converted from the KR200 limousine when the original Perspex dome was damaged. The original wind deflector was formed from steel and painted silver. Most replicas have a fibreglass wind deflector. Some Classic Car Magazines list the Cabriolet as worth more than the KR200 limousine. However, if this is so, values will surely fall as the numerous replicas appear on the market.
